Golden Rules for Younger-looking Skin

Who doesn’t want youthful and glowing skin? While there are many anti-aging creams out there, most of them can put a dent in your wallet. However, there are some golden rules that you can follow to get younger-looking and healthy skin.
Here are a few of these simple rules:

A Solution for Almost Everything - Water!
Well hydrated skin ensures that you combat several skin issues! Water is a low cost magical skin portion. You can start off with washing your face every morning with cold water. Cold water ensures that your pores remain closed, which prevents sebum and accumulation of dirt. When you apply facewash, before washing it off, make sure you massage your face well; this also helps increase blood circulation. When you wash your face regularly with nothing but water, you hydrate it, tighten the pores and have clean, radiant and glowing skin.

Stay Hydrated
As important as it is to wash your face with pure and cold water, it is also important to bless your organs with a hefty amount of water every day! Keeping yourself hydrated is a great way to keep your body healthy and skin problems at bay. Water also helps reduce premature aging such as wrinkles and fine lines. An adult needs to consume at least 2 liters of water a day on average.

Use Sunscreen
There’s no bigger enemy of youthful skin than the sun’s UV rays! The ultraviolet rays emitted by the sun speed up the aging process, giving you visible fine lines and wrinkles. To avoid that from happening, you should apply sunscreen daily before stepping out of the house. Or better yet, you can opt for a moisturizer that contains sunscreen with a minimum of SPF40.

Have a Healthy Diet
True beauty definitely comes from within. If your body isn’t healthy internally, no cream or lotion in the world can give you beautiful skin. Consuming unhealthy foods that are loaded with oil, carbs, etc., can enhance the appearance of aging signs greatly. Healthy foods, on the other hand, such as fruits and vegetables are rich in minerals, vitamins and antioxidants. They cleanse your system, which becomes visible on your skin. So, for youthful-looking skin, maintaining a healthy diet is super-important!

Allow Your Skin to Breathe
Don’t we all love makeup? Women around the world adorn their faces with gorgeous makeup almost every day. However, wearing makeup for too long can ruin your skin. Since makeup can be heavy on your skin, it results in clogged pores and eventually, acne breakouts. Moreover, you should never make the mistake of sleeping with makeup! Your skin does most of its repairing during the night and having a layer of makeup on can hinder that process, resulting in skin problems and premature aging.
Give your skin time to breathe. While you might have to wear makeup to the office every day, you can avoid wearing it on the weekends. Moreover, if you want youthful-looking skin, you should avoid painting your face with cosmetics daily.

All in all, the tips mentioned above won’t reduce all your aging signs instantly. They are rather simple lifestyle changes that need to be incorporated in your everyday life for long-lasting results.
Good Luck!

Giving Yourself a Manicure at Home During Quarantine

Driving off to the salon for some much-needed pampering is not a possibility right now. However, don’t worry. You can take matters into your own hands and give yourself an at-home manicure.

Here is how you can give yourself an at-home manicureduring the COVID-19 quarantine.

1.  Remove Old Nail Paint
The first thing you must do is remove your current nail polish. You can use a nail polish remover and cotton pad for this. Dip the pad in the remover and wipe away the polish.  Make sure to clean up every corner and crevice until there’s no residue left. Moreover, if you paint your nails very often, you should select a non-acetone remover.

2.  Cut and File Your Nails
The second step is to clip your nails, especially if they are too long. This will keep your nails healthy. Make sure that your nails aren’t too short or long; medium-sized nails are easy and convenient to handle. When you are done clipping your nails, you will notice a lot of rough and uneven ends. This is what your filer is for! Pull out the best filer you have and start shaping your nails without exerting too much pressure on them.

3.  Soak Your Hands
Since you can’t massage your hands as well as a manicurist, soaking your hands is the second-most relaxing thing. All you need is a big bowl of warm water. You can add shampoo in it to create some foam and then soak your fingers for a while in it. This will help clean your hands and loosen your cuticles. You can also soak your hands before cutting your nails as it will be easier for you to cut them.

4.  Apply Cuticle Cream
After you have soaked your hands for a while, take them out and wipe them off on a towel. The next step for you is to apply some cuticle cream on your nails and massage them properly. You can also use a cuticle pusher to push your cuticles and give them some shape. However, remember not to apply too much pressure as it can cause an infection.

5.  Apply Hand Moisturizer
Once your hands look all clean and shiny, don’t forget to add some moisturizer. While the massage might not be as good as the one at the salon, you can try your best to gently massage your fingers and the areas around your nails.

With these 5 simple steps, you can give yourself a great at-home manicurewhile being quarantined. Once you are done with all these steps, you can pick a nail color of your choice and paint your nails.

4 Beauty Changes to Embrace during the Quarantine

Women in the 21st century have to do so many things to meet society’s beauty standards. For instance, we are expected to maintain perfectly-arched eyebrows and have smooth hands and legs, perfectly blow-dried hair, painted nails and even long and full eyelashes!
While doing all these things, we often forget to take a breather and embrace our natural self.
Despite how bad the COVID-19 situation is, for the first time, everyone around the world has gotten the chance to indulge in some much-needed self-care. This is a unique opportunity for most of you to hit the pause button, take a deep breath and focus on yourself.
With so much time on your hands, you have a great chance to embrace the following beauty changes during the COVID-19.

1.  Let Your Eyebrows Grow
Because of constant threading, plucking, pulling and shaping, your brows have probably suffered enough over the years. While shaped brows really do give your face a different look, now is a good to let them take their natural shape. Since you are already in self-isolation, it’s not like there are people gathering around to see you. Moreover, you can’t even book your appointment at the salon. So, take a deep breath and give your eyebrows a chance to grow naturally.

2.  No More Heat Styling
Do you blow-dry, straighten or curl your hair regularly? Well, you’re not the only one! After all, good hair days make life uber-exciting. While most of you love having a good hairstyle when you are going out, a bun or a ponytail should suffice when you are at home! Heat styling can damage your hair significantly and make them dry, dull and brittle. Now is a good opportunity to stop using any sort of heat devices on your hair. It is also a rather great time to try DUY hair remedied to repair your hair strands.

3.  Leave Your Lashes Alone
While fuller and longer lashes are the best thing in the world, they can also cause considerable damage. The more you strain your lashes by adding fake ones, the more prone they are to falling out. False lashes definitely look great and allow you to confidently walk out your house without any makeup. This is why many women tend to invest in some great extensions. Since all the salons are closed and you can’t get a touch-up anyway, now would be the ideal time to let your lashes rest!

4.  Skip the Nail Polish
When the quarantine boredom kicks in, you might be tempted to brighten things up by applying colorful nail polish. However, a better option would be to keep your nails bare and give yourself an at-home manicure! After doing household chores all day long, your hands and nails probably need some rest. You should keep your nails short and apply cuticle oil so that your nails become healthier.

This is an extremely difficult time for people around the world. However, we can also view it as an opportunity to start fresh and take care of ourselves. You can consider embracing these beauty changes during the COVID-19as your first step towards self-care!

5 Skincare Tips for Makeup Lovers

Women all around the world use makeup to enhance their facial features. While some women choose to wear makeup occasionally, others wear it every day to work or for a general self-esteem boost. Whether you apply makeup regularly or occasionally, you need to know that it can harm your skin in the long run, especially if you don’t take care of it.
Wearing makeup can lead to clogged pores, dry skin and other skin problems. Moreover, forgetting to wash off your makeup at night can be detrimental to your skin.
Here are a few skincare tips for makeup lovers and enthusiasts out there.

1.  Exfoliate Regularly
A huge majority of the makeup products are oil-based, making them extremely heavy on your skin. These products tend to settle down in your pores regardless of how well you wipe off your makeup. Eventually, this is what causes whiteheads and blackheads.
Exfoliation is a great way to get rid of the makeup that is lodged deep in your skin pores. Exfoliation reaches the deeper layers of your skin, helping you get rid of all the accumulated dirt and substances. Moreover, it also helps get rid of your dead skin cells, making your skin brighter.

2.  Moisturize Your Skin Certain
Makeup products can drain the moisture right out of your skin. In order to avoid that from happening, before you begin your makeup routine, apply a good moisturizer that covers the entire surface area of your face. After this, you can proceed with prepping and priming your skin for your heavy-duty makeup.

3.  Keep Your Skin Hydrated
If your skin is exposed to makeup almost every day, it will require a little extra hydration. Cosmetics contain certain chemicals that can dry out your skin, making it appear dull and tired. By ensuring that your skin remains hydrated, you can bring it back to life! For this, you should invest in a good hydrating mask, serum or night cream. Moreover, you will also have to increase your water intake level to help your skin battle all the chemicals.

4.  NEVER Sleep with Makeup On
This is perhaps the most basic principle of makeup application – NEVER sleep with your makeup on. Being tired or exhausted aren’t good enough excuses to leave your makeup on before you sleep. Rest assured, if you do so, you can expect to wake up in the morning with dark circles and acne on your face. The best thing to do is to maintain a regular skincare regimenthat you conduct twice a day – in the morning before you apply makeup and at night before you hit the sack!

5.  Know Your Skin Type
The key to maintaining beautiful skin is to know your skin type. Whether you have oily or dry skin, there are a bunch of makeup and skincare products out there to suit your skin type. Once you are well aware of the nature of your skin, it will be easier for you to use products that benefit your skin rather than hinder its glow!

All in all, if you apply makeup regularly or occasionally, it’s important to establish a regular skincare regimento take extra care of your skin!

Day in day out, from office work to household chores, you use your hands to carry out many activities. Hence, they require a little extra care and pampering daily or once in a while to remain smooth and beautiful!
Here are a few tips to help you maintain clean and pretty hands.
1.  Wash Your HandsThis goes without saying. Washing your handsis incredibly important as they are the most germ-ridden body part. Your hands come in contact with various objects that contain germs which eventually transfer onto your hands. However, don’t overdo it by constantly washing your handsas they may dry out. Moreover, it’s better to use lukewarm water when washing your hands. Extremely hot or very cold water will only damage your skin.
2.  Pamper Your HandsEvery once in a while your hands require some extra-pampering and relaxation that can only be delivered by a  manicure. A manicure is one of the greatest and most relaxing experiences. Not only does it leave your hands looking beautiful, but the massage also improves the blood supply of your hands while relieving tension. Indulging in a good manicure at least once a month will give your hands all the nourishment they need!
3.  Scrub Your HandsScrubbing doesn’t imply that you rub your hands harshly. It entails the use of an exfoliating agent. Over a period of time, your hands can darken due to the accumulation of dead skin cells. Exfoliation helps get rid of these skin cells, lightening the color of your hands and making them beautiful again!
4.  Protect Your HandsWell, this is easier said than done. You use your hands to carry out a variety of chores, many of which involve coming into contact with damaging substances. Chores such as dishwashing or gardening involve direct contact with chemicals, dirt or grease. While it might be difficult to avoid doing these tasks, you can take some action to protect your hands. Care for your handsby wearing rubber gloves as they will prevent skin damage due to harmful substances. Moreover, they will also ensure that your manicure remains intact!
5.  File and Trim Your NailsDirty nails look unappealing and are unhygienic. Whether you have long or short nails, make sure that you file them from time to time to maintain their shape. Moreover, you should also give them a trim to ensure that the edges smoothen out.
6.  Moisturize Your HandsUsing your hands too much can cause them to dry out. Moreover, constant exposure to the sun can also make your hands wrinkly and cause dark spots. In order to keep your hands healthy and protected, you need to moisturize them well and often. You can either use an emollient-rich soap to wash your hands or invest in a good moisturizing lotion to keep your hands soft, smooth and supple!

These were some tips to care for your hands. Use them to make sure you treat your skin the right way!
