How to Maintain Healthy Hair

Everyone desires luscious and healthy hair. Both men and women want to maintain their hair. Healthy hair is not only long but also thick, silky and smooth. Achieving great, alluring hair that shines is a great struggle.
Here are a couple of effective ways for you to maintain healthy hair.
Get a Trim
Excessive exposure to environmental conditions and heat styling can damage your hair significantly. The ends of your hair suffer the most from this process, as they become dry, brittle, and frayed. This is reason enough for you to get your hair trimmed regularly. By now, you probably have a go-to barber or hairstylist, so make sure that you pay them a visit to get your hair trimmed at least every two to three months. You can also trim your hair at home with a little bit of practice.
While this may sound majorly counterproductive, hair trimming aids in hair growth. Receiving trims at regular intervals gets rid of damaged split ends, which promote hair growth from the roots. Also, trimming your ends helps make your hair softer and more flexible.
Use a Good Shampoo and Conditioner
Shampooing your hair is uber-important as it helps cleanse your scalp. While applying shampoo, remember to focus on the scalp rather than the ends of your hair. Also, use a reasonable amount of shampoo according to your hair length as over-doing it can make your hair dry. Over applying shampoo also causes a loss of essential oils and moisture from your hair, snatching away its natural luster.
A high-quality conditioner might be an apt option, but make sure it is suitable for your hair type. Conditioner can help in the revitalization of your hair strands, making them smooth and luscious. Conditioner is more strand-focused rather than root-focused.
Maintain a Healthy and Nutritious Diet
One of the most important factors that affect the health of your hair is your diet. A healthy diet that is full of vitamins, protein and iron will lead to long, thick and healthy hair. Your hair cells require the aforementioned nutrients to grow effectively. Iron-rich foods, such as fish and beans, and protein-rich foods, such as milk and peas, should be incorporated in your diet.
Another crucial aspect of your diet is your daily water intake. Your water consumption has a major impact on your health; hence, keeping yourself hydrated will lead to healthier skin, nails, and hair.
Apply Hair Oil
Hair oil is a traditional way to maintain healthy hair and also promote their growth. Oil is great for scalp and strand application as it promotes growth from the roots while making your strands smooth and silky. There are many different varieties of oil such as coconut, almond or olive oil. You can apply any oil an hour or so before taking a shower and then wash it off with shampoo to get silky and shiny hair.
Conclusion
Achieving and maintaining healthy hair requires a lot of care. Incorporate the above tips into your daily routine to attain the hair of your dreams.
